Loved the Witcher 2 when I played it so kind of excited to see this…

I must say I’m looking forwards to it. My only hope is that the controls are less counterrintuitive/dumbed down for a blatant console port than in the 2nd game.

I have to admit to having played it on the XBox so it was actually very good for me 🙂

Trailer looks ace, although I am afraid XBox primary development and bad PC control mapping are becoming the norm for a lot of games.

I own both previous titles and haven’t played a single moment of them. Probably going to pick up the third one too.

Well, that’s some excellent gameplay value you got for your money, then. 😉

I played the first one last night! It is… an experience. I think a review will be written up on my blog where I do things like that in the future.

I really liked the second one. There was a lot of cutting people and monsters up and that was awesome and the story was actually pretty decent.

If nothing else you’ll get to understand precisely why the Pathfinder Inquisitor class is a specialised Monster Hunter instead of an actual, you know, inquisitor. They just changed the name for copywright reasons and turned his potions into spells.

I’m pretty stoked about these as well.  Me and Alex were discussing it the other night, how the trailer reminds us a couple of scenes from the books — which is never a bad thing.

I actually pre-ordered TW2, but only ended up completing TW1 early last year.  I should probably start TW2, but there are so many good games out there (Rome 2, I’m looking at you).

That said CD Projekt RED are a nice, ethical, gaming company in this world that seems to be filled with on-disk DLC and shady deals.  They’re one of the few companies in which I don’t mind dropping $60 on a game I know I won’t play for a while, just to support the company.

I’m curious if there are other folks who do similar for their favorite gaming company and if so, who is it and why?

You’re going to “love” the part with the Dragon on the bridge at the beginning of the game where you can’t fight it. You simply have to run away and dodge the flames while enemy soldiers are trying to kill you and this is only the intro level!

    😀

Spoilers much?  But yeah, thankfully, I’ve played it enough to get past that point now. 😀

Funny thing about Witcher 2 is that is has a inverted difficulty curve. At the beginning it is fuck hard but by the end you are a complete badass and can kill anything and everything without issue.

Not that much actually :P. Gerralt blatantly states that he’s not going to even think about trying to fight the dragon when it turns up. He’s got a more important objective. The game does sort of throw you in at the deep end (the tutorial is a full on siege assault on a castle with people trying to kill you at every turn). And you kind of get hurled into the action with very little by means of instruction or indication as to what you’re supposed to do as people charge around in dissorganised mobs trying to kill each other.

It’s all very emotional and intense.
