Hey, didn’t I say before in this thread “Don’t trust anybody”?

I enjoyed Illo (Eye-lo) trying to get the pieces of the story to fit. At least I think it was Illo.

The latest session is up and running. The group is closing in on the finale slowly but surely. I’m anticipating two or three more weeks.

We are taking next week off because several people are out of town but will resume in two weeks.

    http://www.andyliss.us and then gaming.

There is also some nice Jenny Dolfen artwork of the Staff of Naught and its original owner under the Artwork section.

I’ve posted the session from Saturday night on my web site.

We took a couple of weeks off because various people were out of town and other issues. So this is the first session in three weeks. Sorry for the gap.

We are closing in on the conclusion of the Staff of Naught. I anticipate two more sessions before the exciting denuement.

This session had some real wise cracks flying around, good to hear the laughter, I think it’s Fluda that really makes the bad puns.

You have a real chore getting those guys back on track sometimes!

Yes, it is a large group of players and they tend to wander. We finished up last night. I’m going to be busy today but hopefully I will get it all together and post the finale sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Now I have to start working on the next loop.

The exciting conclusion to Of Naught and Men took place Saturday night and I’ve got the audio and other items up on my web site now.

There is a little bit of everything in this session. Party strife, murdering of prisoners, the destruction (?) of the Staff of Naught, and even a cameo by Lolth the Queen of the Drow.

We went a little long in this session because I wanted to finish up. The gang was pretty exausted by the end but I thought it went well. I hope anyone listening has enjoyed these sessions.

I’m going to take some time off from my game for a while but maybe I’ll post audio from whatever we do in its place.

Thanks for all the comments. Especially Cob37 whose game I need to catch up on because I’ve been rather busy.

I also appreciate the inspiration of the gang at RPGMP3 who got me started on this in the first place. I’ve really enjoyed listening to my own sessions and I think it has helped me as a GM.

    See everybody soon!

Very cool Tom, I enjoyed listening to the story. Now what I would like would be a “behind the scenes” explanation of the finale just so I know what happened and how Seymour and the others were involved.

I think the players did a good job and I think you are a good DM.

I am looking forward to their next adventure!

Thank you for the compliment. I’m glad you enjoyed the story loop. The behind the scenes explanation is quite complicated but I’ll try to sum it up best I can.

Seymour: The third son of the King of Tarlton (one of the 6 large human kingdoms on the continent). He is a Priest of Ra and famous throughout the land for his Icon of Ra. Given to him personally by Ra it is a globe that emits true sunlight. He is dedicated to destroying undead and has encountered the group before.

Elucidor: The last Mage King of Mighty Das’von the King of Cities that vanished 150 years ago leaving the Desert of Death and the Petrified Forest. He appears in the dreams of powerful mages and urges the destruction of Clerics. He believes there are no gods but simply powerful creatures posing as such.

Ming Lo: The warlord of Tarlton and possibly the re-born Demon Rider who served as the Left Hand of the Emperor in forgotten times. He is an exiled Drow prince who used the Black Pearl Sphere to cloak himself in darkness. He stole it from Lolth many ages ago.

The Emperor: At one time the entire continent (about the size of N. and S. America combined without a narrowing neck of C. America) was known as Corland and ruled from six great cities scattered on the coast. The Emperor ruled from Das’von and his three children ruled from Tarlton, Doria and Caparal in the south.

The Usurper: At some point the Empire was overthrown by a shadowy figure known as the Usurper who embarked on a pogram against humanoids (the allies of the Emperor). He also did his magical best to eliminate all traces of the former Empire and eventually his own works.

So, here is what happened. Lolth knew that the Icon of Ra was actually the reformed Black Pearl Sphere (stolen from Ming and hidden ‘where no Drow could ever retrieve it’). She helped a great Tarltonite Necromancer (Hazhallad) to create the Staff of Naught. She knew it would eventually “tip” the Icon of Ra (which had been stolen from her originally, if you remember, by Ming) back to its original form.

She then facilitated the group being at the Peak of the Sun with the Staff of Naught and the Icon of Ra at the Summer Solstice.

Seymour believed he was to destroy the Staff of Naught (as did the group). Meanwhile, Elucidor knew the truth as well and attempted to communicate this knowledge to Laully but he is not able to speak clearly as many powerful creatures (or gods) do not much like him.

Meanwhile, a few years back the group caused the destruction of an Orc tribe and the sole survivor geased them to destroy the Black Pearl Sphere (the Icon of Ra although they did not understand the connection).

So, at the Peak of the Sun all events came together and the Staff of Naught struck the Icon of Ra which then reformed into the Black Pearl Sphere. To the great amusement of Lolth.

The next quest is to destroy the Black Pearl Sphere and I’m working on that now.

Thank you very much indeed. It makes me happy that you enjoyed the sessions. We have quite different styles of GMing but it seems to me the players enjoy both and that is what it is all about!

I’m not caught up on your sessions yet but I should get to it now that I don’t have to develop my game for a few months.

I really appreciate you listening as I know it is difficult with so many players and a background that doesn’t make much sense to newcomers.

    Talk to you soon.

    Tom
