One of the problems we’ve faced recently has been getting everyone online for the games. Sometimes it’s scheduling, but in the past few weeks several people have had major Internet woes, resulting in weeks when at the last minute the GM simply hasn’t been able to start the game. In order to combat that somewhat Whartson Hall will be keeping a couple of episodic campaigns waiting in the wings, adventures we can run with almost no prep and which can handle missing players more easily.

The first of these uses our old favourite Forgotten Futures along with an adventure setting from Tri Tac Games and it’s currently trickling through the tubes to Hal’s Vat O’ Goodness, where it will be refined and distilled into that purest essence of gaming that you have come to expect from RPGMP3.com. Scheduling will perforce be erratic, since this is a fill-in game, but hopefully it will be more enjoyable than no game.

Thanks for the update.  I don’t think it is a bad thing to mix up some long-term games with a few one-shot episodes.

Thanks. Nick in particular has been having a rotten time dealing with BT. Telephone and Internet down for weeks and they say it could be another fortnight! Dreadful service.

Ah, but you don’t live beyond MiddleEarth, in the deepest Devonshire badlands, which is apparently where Nick is and where BT’s approach to customer care is “meh, what you going to do, switch provider? Oh that’s right, we’re the only option!”

Three wifi providers for the Elven-geeks shunning the sky,

Seven for the Dwarf-nerds on their basement LAN,

Nine for WoW addicts ignoring their mothers’ cries,

None for the Dork Vet who’s still tied to a payment plan,

In the Shire of Devon where British Telecom dies.

One does not simply make a phone call into Devon…
