Separated by many miles, yet brought together through remarkable advances in SCIENCE, the Whartson Hall Aethernauts embark on a voyage to the wondrous future!

It is 1901 and the world is slowly coming to terms with the implications of the R.force, its discovery and mastery, allowing mortal man to ascend to the heavens and beyond in astonishing vessels such as the Astronef, which has recently returned from a tour of the solar system with Lord and Lady Redgrave at the helm. Everything is about to change, but for the moment business continues much as it has for decades; and aboard the steamship Princess Louise the discussion turns from future dreams to the more immediate gossip that an American agent has fallen perilously ill whilst on a secret mission for his Lordship. Coincidence, or a sign of more sinister intent? Thrust into the emerging mystery, can the ship’s doctor and one of the first class passengers save the man and foil any dastardly plot?

    The Whartson Hall Aethernauts:

    Amelia: Lady Hester Valentine

    Nick: Doctor James Crowther

    Jon: The Referee

The Game: Forgotten Futures by Marcus L. Rowland. This adventure, Cabin 12a, is taken from Forgotten Futures II: The Log of the Astronef. Thanks to Professor Elemental for so kindly allowing to use an excerpt from his songs in the introduction.

The Whartson Hall Aethernauts play through the Google+ Hangouts facility rather than face-to-face in a room. Despite our best efforts, listeners may find some reduction in sound quality as a result.

Dr Crowther’s desire to finish his breakfast seems perfectly in-character… And I certainly wouldn’t want to suffer an emergency medical condition while he’s on-shift!

    Thanks for sharing, Jon!

There was a question at the beginning of this episode about whether or not there’s a Doctor in Clue(do).

In Cluedo, the victim is Dr. Black. In Clue, however, it’s Mr. Boddy. Reverend Green also loses his title in the transition overseas.

    Yes. Yes, there is. 😉

Went back and listened to this one again today and enjoyed it very much once more.

It was serendipitous that I was reading Eric Larsen’s Thunderbolt about Marconi and Crippin when I listened to this the first time.

I have absolutely no idea what relevance this could possibly have to the murde… medical Doctor Crowther.
