If you’re into comics but haven’t yet come across the excellent British weekly anthology 2000AD, I heartily suggest you try out this link! It’s been going more than 35 years now and is the home of Judge Dredd and many other cutting edge creations.

Do take a look. It’s really good stuff.

Top stuff. There have also been a few versions of Judge Dredd as an RPG. An old Games Workshop one, a D20 I had fun with and a Traveller one that I am tempted by.

There has also been mention of it in the context of rebels in a podcast on the social science of geekdom. It is well worth a listen

    I used to read 2000AD as a kid 🙂

There was so great stuff in there. I haven’t read it in years.

It’s been on a real roll the last few years. Real second golden age territory.

Now the really good news for people interested outside the UK is that it’s gone digital. You can get your weekly 2000AD or monthly Judge Dredd Megazine via the <a href="itunes app or via the 2000AD shop. I’ve moved to a digital subscription and it’s just excellent.

Some of the classic early Dredd stories (Case Files 1-5) are available digitally too from the shop mentioned above. So we’re talking stories like The Cursed Earth, The Day The Law Died, Judge Death, Judge Child and Apocalypse War… really strong material.

    Right, that’s enough typing… I’m off to read this week’s prog!  🙂

Check out this article from the Guardian on 2000AD at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. It includes a brilliant 10 minute mini documentary on the comic, including comments from Neil Gaiman.
