#94958 Squadron UK Session 03

Vox populi has spoken!

Also, can I just add... I loved the awkward conversation bit in the Birmingham B&B. That was just wonderful. :)

So I'm 45 minutes in when I think "I'll just check the introductory blurb..." Yes, this really happened on this morning's commute!

I refer you to the above blurb if you don't know what I mean. :)

Slightly surreal with the sheep there... But in a good way!

Good fun! :)

Ps. yep, can SO see this as an Aardman Animations series. Would be perfect! :)

#94755 Warlords Of The Accordlands Session 105

There is quite a sense of achievement once you've listened all the way through to session 105, I have to admit! I have no idea how many hours of plot dodging that makes up, but however many it is, it's a very pleasant listen. :)

In fact you get so much value for money from the campaign books that even 105 sessions isn't enough to cover it all! Bargain! Buy now, good people! :)

#94564 Fan Clubs

Posted by Dr_Jomster on 01 February 2015 - 04:56 PM

You know, I don't think I did! Obviously I used to get Whizzer & Chips, Beano, Dandy, Scream and of course 2000AD and Tornado but I don't think I joined any clubs. I did however enter some competitions and was lucky enough to win a ton of Star Wars figures from a 2000AD competition just after Empire Strikes Back came out. Now that was seriously awesome! :)

I also sent off for a Captain Britain mask I think, which no doubt made me look a very, very heroic seven year old!

Village of the side quests! I wonder how they decide how many to have?

How's about... Roll 1d6.
1-3: Many side quests
4-6: Lots of side quests

Yep, think that's the way.

#94241 Easy downloading of actual play recordings to your iOS device

Posted by Dr_Jomster on 03 January 2015 - 05:55 PM

Apple device owners!

If downloading an actual play recording, adding it to iTunes then adding it to your device (either by USB or iTunes match) seems a bit of a faff, then you'd be right.

If the official podcasts app gets you down with its flakiness, then I'd know where you were coming from.

What you might not know is that you can download audio files (including zipped ones) using Goodreader and play them back in it too. Just browse url and follow the links until you reach your target file to download.

It's like a dedicated RPGMP3 app that also lets you read PDFs! Just amazing! :)

#87493 Feylin's Bulging Bag of Festive Fun and Fantasticness VI

Posted by Dr_Jomster on 19 December 2013 - 03:44 PM

Definitely! I've been eyeing up this little gem on and off for quite some time! And now, thanks to Feylin, it's looking just lovely in my game books collection! Here's the blurb:

Even in a world of superhumans, there’s more to life than people with unusual powers. But even though the average Joe or Jane can’t fly or throw cars around like baseballs they can still provide your campaign with intriguing depth, roleplaying opportunities, and adventure hooks.

Everyman presents dozens of these interesting “normal” individuals for use in your campaign as Dependent NPCs, Hunteds, Rivals, Followers, Contacts, or just people for your characters to interact with.

They’re organized into seven chapters:
At the Office (bosses, co-workers, and other office folk)
In the Media (reporters, website operators, publishers, and more)
Law and Order (cops, judges, and other justice system personnel)
On Campus (students, teachers, mad scientists, and beyond)
My Life As a Hero (people who work for or with superheroes)
My Life As a Villain (people particularly associated with supervillains)
Among the Multitudes (everyone else)
The final chapter is a separate GM’s Vault section for “GM only” information so players can use the book without learning any of the secrets the GM plans to create adventures around.
