H.G.Wells' Little Wars is still being published apparently (SkirmisherPublishing).  Has anyone given it a go?

 

I've just scanned the preview of the pdf on RPGnow and there a some wonderful lines from Wells' intro about gaming in general and the sorts of people who play his games.

 

Or to give it its full name:

 

‘Little Wars; a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books'

I first encountered it through Summoner too. I loved that game, but I remember pressing the wrong button right at the very, very end so that, having completed the entire game, instead of revelling in victory my character decided to wander off into another room.

But the sketch was a great Easter egg.
