#98972 [New Audio] Kingmaker, a Pathfinder Adventure Path

Posted by Lockhart on 03 October 2017 - 05:37 PM

I wish

Currently me and Heather are looking at (in addition to Jade Regent and Kingmaker), Carrion crown, rise of the Runelords, strange Aeons, mummy's mask. Basically anything that I can pitch the plot and the wife instantly begins thinking of characters and I think of npcs.

I am interested in how exactly your hero point system works, it sounded like you were letting 1 point save off death and I can't quite tell where the harrow card drawing comes in.

Also, you evil, evil GM for letting Goody Niska to get into the council and just...running her too good. I know her initial writing. I'm practically cackling listening to the plot unfold and wondering how its going to turn into a wreck.

Woo! I mean, I'm only on session 9 but I've been enjoying this quite a lot and excited for more. Is inspiring me to try and run solo games for the wife.

#98523 Board Games?

Posted by Lockhart on 24 September 2016 - 10:06 AM

It is definitely going to be a game I try to play often with Heather. One of the games she loves the most in my collection is Red Dragon Inn with the different character decks having their own mechanic. I feel Sentinels is a similar game in a co-op fashion so I think it'll be a great hit with her.

I don't know about recording it. Unlike Arabian Nights, there isn't a huge narrative element to it that would make for a quality audio experience.

However I hear there is a game called Mansions of Madness recently released which appears to be something of a mix between the narrative style of Arabian Nights and the play style of Betrayal on the House on the Hill which might make a better recording. And the newest version of it is meant for an app to be integrated as the GM basically.

#98495 New APs, starting halfway through, seeking forum wisdom

Posted by Lockhart on 15 September 2016 - 07:03 AM

1. Yep, pretty much contacting Hal is the way to go

2. Providing the mic picks up decently, I think 64-96 is usually fine, there isn't much significant improvement for spoken word going much higher unless you got a really expensive mic. Generally files sizes should be smaller than 200 mb (the current uploaded doesn't accept higher size files) and those should be for quite long sessions of 4+ hours really.

3. I think a lot of this will depend on the quality of Session 1 establishing a backstory and the players introducing themselves and their characters well before starting into the current game session. It could work. Or it could be too tricky to jump into.

4. Some Yorkton games have invoked children being in the background and I don't think there has been any major complaints. I don't think it'd put people off.

#98059 D&D 4th Edition OGL Petition

Posted by Lockhart on 25 March 2016 - 09:56 AM

A very good cause. For all the misteps of 4th, it still deserves the openness that has given 3rd edition such longevity and the option for it to be re-designed in a better way.

#97951 The Worlds Largest Dungeon using Pathfinder?

Posted by Lockhart on 08 March 2016 - 07:25 PM

On one hand, I like Mega-dungeons. On the otherhand, Shattered Star has been quite dungeon heavy...Though admittedly not a Mega-dungeon.

I have plenty of Mega-dungeons itching to run though. Temple of Jing. Emerald Spire. Or maybe a FGG Mega-module. So many adventures, So little time.

Mind...Maybe some shorter modules/campaigns might be good too after Phandelver and Shattered Star. Things finished under 10 sessions. Variety. Maybe me and Hal need to run different things con-currently...

I'm getting off topic. I believe some friends in Yorkton are running WLD with Pathfinder. Maybe I should check how much is being modded there.

#97937 Greyhawk Adventures Session 29

Posted by Lockhart on 04 March 2016 - 10:39 AM

Howdy Skell gamers. Figured I'd finally drop in to say that this series (as most rpgmp3 new releases) all gets listened too during my work

I admittedly can't give my full attention, but while I'm usually able to get the plot of the session, I'm completely lost on the overarching story and what the motivations of the characters are. Also a bit tricky keeping track of what characters and players are present and relevant NPCs. Is there a cast list?

Just a note here, probably not a good idea to get in the habit of listening to copyrighted music and YouTube videos during recording. The kinda stuff that can get a podcast in trouble.

Anyway, keep it up, I'm enjoying.

#97891 Pathfinder humble bundle

Posted by Lockhart on 25 February 2016 - 07:10 PM

It is quite good value for the adventures alone. If my game budget for the year wasn't tied up in the Sentinels of the Multiverse kickstarter (You just HAD to taunt to developer to offer an EVERYTHING category, didn't you Lockhart), I'd be shilling some money in this direction. Well. I mean...If I didn't already own most of this stuff.

Hmm, Jade Regent 35 is giving me trouble on the upload, the rest are queued so far.
