Just to let people know the Bundle of Holding is currently running a bundle for the Laundry RPG.

These are jolly good books and I'm getting electronic copies to go along with the dead tree versions that I have at the moment. I also heartily recommend the Charlie Stross novels. They are a great series.

I've signed up for a Laundry session at the UK Games Expo, so might look at the bundle of it's still running after payday. Enjoyed the first novel but couldn't get through the second at all, I'm afraid.

The second was strained in a number of places. I thought the third was much stronger. There's an interesting delve into the Russian civil war in the Fuller Memorandum. Pastiching Fleming may not have been a wise turn for the second in a series.

Definitely have to check out this bundle. Thanks for the heads up.

Hmm. On recollection I agree with the second one being a bit of a potential miss step. I certainly think that the series has picked up a lot and think that the Apocalypse Codex is a great dark turn.

I played my first laundry game at the Expo a few years ago, unfortunatly it wasn't much fun.  I beileve that was much to do with the circumstances rather than the game itself though.  The scenairo was a heavy on the comedy oneshot game which was mostly about bumbling into absurd situations. The group was pretty big and had a number of loud players in it meaning I spent much of the session sitting pretty.

Since then however I have started playing it regularly, running through the prewritten adventures, and it is a lot of fun!  There is a lot to the system however, especially the magic, and it has a very different flavour to the usual CoC games.  Be advised they've added a lot of rules onto the BRP system.

Hopefully that won't be an issue for a con game. Hopefully...

You should be able to get by with a knowledge of CoC.  I imagine you'll just be fed any additional stuff you need as neccessary.  The changes are mostly intuitive anyhow.

Another stinking Bundle of Laundry! For those who missed it the first time Bundle of Holding are re-releasing their Laundry package.

:coffee: :mage: :cthuhu:

They're also running a bundle of Legend finery for those into Mongoose's Runequest games.

Good value still. I've just finished The Nightmare Stacks (the latest Laundry novel) and it's great. I definitely recommend the series :)
