Didn't see that this was happening until it was already over - glad to hear it went okay. Hope it clears up the issues. Best wishes.

Thanks folks,

Just an update - we are still in hospital. Lindsay had a rough night where her blood pressure was so low that they couldn't give her any pain meds for her surgery pain :(

Once she was returned to her room on Friday she was shuffled off her Recovery bed onto her ward bed and left. Her receiving nurse was pretty terrible and didn't really make her comfortable at all. This was at about 2pm. When her night nurse (who was fabulous) came around at about 8pm she noticed the bedding from Recovery and decided she was going to strip the bed and make things nice and comfy. She rolled Lindsay over to find that she had been lying on her spinal drain (that the other nurse had not told her about) and also all the wires from the heart monitor. All this was right under her new incision and freshly poked at spine.

She is sleeping now - she has been up and around a little but she is in a lot of pain (not made better when she can't have pain meds). We are hoping for release today so I can get her home and we can carry on playing Shattered Star - I am sure that will make her back all better :P

Cheers

Hal :hal:

Always sucks when nurses are bad. I had one trip over my IV drip when I was in hospital as a kid. I remember my mother scolding her soundly and quite loudly...

All best wishes to Linds!

She is a trooper - we will get there.

This same nurse also left air in Lindsay's saline line...

I'm sending good vibes across the ether at you both right now! The question is, what sound effect do they come with? Womwomwom, zzzzap or shazam? Let me know! :)

We all hope that Lindsay feels better soon. It sounds like you need to get her away from that one nurse. :(

That is an outstandingly well-made thing. :)

Lindsay should submit to gruelling invasive surgery and sub-par post-op treatment more often, if this is what it inspires. ;)

Good lord, but that nurse is a horrific human being. :( Hope Lindsay gets much better quickly.

Also, really good job on the thing, Heather! ^_^

Jeez, that's horrible, I hope the night nurse reported it when she found out. Sorry to hear Lindsay's having a rough time, hope she recovers soon.  :(
