Spotted this on YouTube this morning. Apparently it adds back some of the discarded footage and removes some of the things that were added to make the movie more kid friendly and less sinister. I am all for a more sinister version of the Dark Crystal so give it a watch :)

Yeah, there were certainly a lot of references to the skeksis and fizzgig in the Long Tall Texan recordings. :)

And in some of BAGgies' episodes, come to think of it.

From recent episode of the BAG's Sundered Skies campaign:

Ross: *Cackles with malicious GMing delight*
Steve: "That was Ross doing his skeksis impersonation - or possibly Salacious Crumb." ;)

Yay :) Not had chance to watch it all yet - is it very different?

I know they take the narration out... And the Skekses don't speak English much...

I guess I know what me and Tess are watching tonight - I've never had a chance to see Dark Crystal before...

What now? Never... seen... the... Dark... Crystal?

The men will be around later to ensure you have watched it, otherwise they will be revoking your nerd card and exchanging it for a football strip and some Carling. :)

*Browses local kids' TV channel*

*Notices that they're showing Labyrinth tomorrow, and Dark Crystal next Saturday*

Huzzah.gif

*Reads the fine print*

*Realizes that they're not showing the original English-language versions*

*Both movies have, in fact, been dubbed, since children who are old enough to watch those films are apparently not considered old enough to read subtitles*
