But Thing isn't playing in Crimson Throne.
For Shattered Star we're just starting book 2. My players have finished the web enhancement (which was originally cut content anyway). They've just turned up at the Mushfens & met with Maroux (who, for obvious reasons, just had to have a Jamaican accent). I haven't read all of book 3 yet. I've managed slightly less than half of it. I must say I'm looking forwards to That Trap in book 2 and seeing how and if my players interract with it.
The gnashing pit I mentioned isn't part of book 2 of Crimson Throne. Some sadistic "genius" on the internet who converted all the stat blocks over decided to go really overboard on some of them to turn high cr foes into complete party killers (such as summoning a pit in the only doorway into a room when the original npc didn't have any pit related spells).
Because the wicked foe responsible escaped us we actually got sidetracked for 3 or 4 sessions tracking down the villain Garren would refer to as the "Wicked Wizard of the Pit!" And when we got our revenge it was sweet . So yeah, that pit isn't in book 2 of Crimson Throne. The gm appologised for using the stat block that even he considered to be rediculously overpowered for our level, and happily worked our quest for vengeance into book 3 .
