I must have my paranoia dial turned up too high. I was wondering if the body of the apparent victim (being generic to avoid spoilers) was actually just a decoy. Maybe the supposed victim was actually the necromancer, and had given out false descriptions of what the necromancer looked like. (Which would explain some of the confusion on the subject). Sculpt corpse can be used to change the appearance of a body, and maybe the note was placed in order to get the party to destroy the spire that was actually a threat to the necromancer.

I had considered that myself. Its a classic tactic to fake your own death to get you out of suspicion, and the freedom to move about and slowly kill the rest of the people at the mansion/island/dinner party, and magic makes it all the easier.

Hmm... just finished and want to ask a question... but we don't really have spoiler tags... what I'm going to do is ask it in tiny font and hope people can skip over it.

Will the stasis spell stop Heir's tattoos from activating?

Okay, that's really tiny. Copy&paste or reply if you want to read it.

There's nothing in the sepia snake sigil's spell description saying it provides protection from outside magic, so there shouldn't be any problems. The description says (target) "can be damaged by outside forces (and perhaps even killed)". Of course, with unknown magic like the time travel tattoos, it's hard to say for sure.

Clever use of font size tags, BTW!

Any time Hal runs a town adventure and we have a chance to hear his wide selection of at least five fantastic voices (ey up lad) it's the purest fun I think that can be had on RPGMP3 and that part is NOT a bit of sarcasm.

Either way I am loving this new game and hoping it lasts a billion sessions.

Ok, maybe 500 mil. :O

Personally, adventures in shopping is my favorite variant of the rpgmp3 local color meta game. The Rolemaster campaign gives some the highest value chips at the table: you know someone has gone 'all in' when staring down a wager of "Old Mother Whackity the herbalist of Fish Street," they come over the top with "Daren Stover, dwarven armorer."

So.... does anybody have brilliant, anti-necromancer strategies?
