I was hinting at "chicken-fish" (she specified that it had air quotes) in my recipes comment, but I wanted to be careful since some people read the comments first! Part of what made it so funny was how it surprised everyone and then became part of the ongoing conversation. :P

Oh, and I watch it on youtube. Seeing the faces and drawings is awesome. I think you've really touched on the future of long-distance gaming here.

I greatly enjoyed them, and I did watch the video versions. I think releasing them to the main site is a great idea, but in case you want to do a patron only thing with video, youtube does have a feature where you can make a video only accessible to people who have the link.

Wow.

No offense guys, but you all look NOTHING like my mental image of you! I'ts actually really fascinating looking at people I've been listening to for a few years now and seeing the expressions on their faces. Kinda mindblowing.

I havent listened to all the session just yet as I've been kinda busy all day, but it certainly seems like good fun so far!

I haven't actually listened to the podcast yet - I save them up to listen to at work, and I had a vacation this weekend. Since I can listen at work while I do other stuff, but not watch stuff, I'm probably never going to use the screencast beyond seeing what you guys actually look like.

Thanks though, for putting them up. You've provided many hours of entertainment at work, and may well have contributed to my sanity. (I realize that the antics of some of these groups helping with mental health may say uncomplimentary things about my job)

Just trying to get a handle on if people think the screencast is a good idea...

Hal :hal:

I finally made it through the full episode. Like others, I tend to listen while or work, or more commonly while driving (I work from home and my "office" is ~300 mi away, so monthly trips up and back give me ~10 hrs to keep myself awake). I enjoyed the video, but I had to view it in 5 or 6 chunks, so overall, not the most consumable fashion for me. However, it's always up to Hal how the audio goes in/comes out, so I'm just happy for the continued opportunity to laugh along with the players.

Thanks as always Hal et al.

Awesome stuff! Really cool to see the vid as well as the podcasty goodness.

Gotta ask, though, what were you using for all of that? Because I live in a fairly remote area, getting my friends together around a table for a game can be... problematic. Any particular programs you recommend for this?

This app for Google Hangouts is fantastic, it is still evolving, and so whenever we have encountered an issue, the guys behind it have been adapting it. It really makes it easy to feel like we are all in the same place.

Awesome. I'll deffo look into maybe using that. What about the vid capture? as you may be able to tell, I'm kind of technologically illiterate here.

That sounds like my kind of restaurant! Or is Meatspin Mountain a sex position I am unaware of?

Fraps or camtasia would probably work, not certain what Hal is using. If your using Mac OS 10.6 or higher, there is a built in screen recorder in Quicktime.

Also, I think if you enable a hangout on air, and verify a youtube account, you can record and upload to youtube all from within google hangouts but I don't know how that works.
