Alright. I came across this while running my current campaign. One of my characters wanted to set their own trap for some monsters. For the life of me I can't seem to find some rules on how PCs set traps.

I ended up ruling that if the materials are available then the DC is the same as disabling the trap. Anybody know if there are some rules floating out there somewhere.

I am going to assume you're playing 4th edition DnD because I'm pretty sure the previous ones and most other d20 games have it at some point.

I'm not aware of any official rules myself, but I think your choice is a pretty solid one. If it works, go with it. Just be aware that there might be unforeseen consequences like the Ewok battle in Return of the Jedi.

It is 4e DnD. Sorry about that, thought I said it (apparently only in my head though). I will watch out for Ewokesque battles though, I can't lose all of my AT-STs.
