Thanks to a very generous forum member I have the opportunity to grab myself a much more upmarket headset than I currently own for the PGers' recordings.

This is both grand, amazing and problematic in equal measure. The biggest issue is that I am very suspicious when it comes to buying headsets. So I am turning to you folks.

I am looking for a headset with mic.
I am not looking for a desk mic.
The speaker quality is secondary to the mic's quality.
Preferably the headset will enclose the ear, rather than sitting on top.
Finally it has to be available on Amazon UK.

Any suggestions?

Gratz on the potential new mic, and huzzah for generous folks!

I am, however, no help at all for picking the thing.

I've found a mic that may fit the bill, Plantronics GameCon 777, but I'm curious as the what the following technical details really mean:

Speaker Frequency Response: 20Hz - 20kHz
Speaker Impedence: 32 Ohms
Microphone Type (unidirectional): Electret
Microphone Frequency Response: 100Hz - 10kHz

Especially when compared to:
Frequency: 8 - 22kHz
Impedance: 32 Ohms @ 1kHz
Sensitivity: 105dB/mW
Microphone: Ø 9x7 mm
Microphone sensitivity: 58dB +/- 2dB

You'd only get mono recordings?
