Oh what the heck. Since filk looks like it's back on the menu here's one I wrote a while ago about one of the characters in Hal's Warhammer sessions. I did try recording it, but hit two technical issues, one of which was my inability to sing. Might have another go in the future.

Sung to the tune of Brian Wilson (2000) by Barenaked Ladies, which is slightly different than their original version, mainly missing off the introductory verse.

I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
Well I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
So I'm standing here just staring at the graves defiled
And I'm thinking about, oh, something pretty vague
Skulls glistening and still grinning their smiley smiles
And I'm wondering if this is some kind of a zombie plague
Because I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
Well I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
And if you want to find me I'll be out with a pine box
Just wondering where the hell they're all coming from
I'm praying for some garlic and the first rays of the sun
And having fun fun fun
I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
Well I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
I had a dream that I was deep underground
And though it was very scary
I fought until the undead formed a mound
I fought until the undead formed a mound
Somebody help me, I'm in a burial mound
Somebody help me, in a burial mound
Somebody help me...
Because I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
Well I'm fighting undead just like Durak Ironhead
Strolled downtown in the rain, 9.30 on a moonless night
Just to check out a family graveyard plot
Call it impulsive, you can call them repulsive, you can call me insane
But when I'm surrounded I just can't stop

If you've heard the particular session that inspired this then you'll be aware just how very brave and effective Mr Ironhead was...
