I need some help. I am designing my own Traveller star map. I need names, 32 of them to be exact. Normally I could come up with them myself but I decided to let the site come up with them instead. They can be as silly or as serious as you want. You can put one or more in a post. After a period of time I will compile the list of chosen names and share the chosen with you. Nothing star wars like please.

Thanks! :D

Brigand
Ceylon

You really could get all sorts of things for this. Would you prefer actual words?

I'm tempted to suggest Alstar. Not a derivation of Alistair, it's etymology is actualy thus: Alstar derives from All Star or All Stars which, in turn, is based on the first words spoken by a human upon viewing the system "my god, it's all full of stars" although due to a radio malfunction, the only words his crew could hear were "all" and "stars". Since they couldn't think of another name for the star system, and Alstar sounded quite good, they went for it.

Actualy a popular folk tale suggests they called it Allstar but that a new wave of immigrants kept pronouncing it Alstar and the name stuck.

Howzatt for a system name then? You've even got a nice bit of history (and a cheesey in joke - film quote to go with it" :P).

How about letting them visit the Continental Quadrant?

Horengeuse
Pamcaeg
Kofi
Bacannan Aegis :P
EDIT: Ooh, ooh, even better: You could have one called the Baccanalian system, and the only inhabitable/terraformable planet is the tenth from the sun, known simply as: Baccanan X. :D

Alternatively:
Daedalus
Lysistrate
Vsky
Rosilengius
Challop
Holitio
Ragata

Somehow Praxis V sounds like a good name for Traveller too (V as in the roman numeral for 5, not a capitol v).

Actually, you could have both. Praxis 'Five,' not to be confused with Praxus 'Vee'

A bit silly, yes, but hey, I thought it was punny.
