I've actually been in the mood to write these of late. Here is but one of the ideas I've been kicking around. Expect there to be more....

I Am a Paladin - To the tune of Highwayman by a bunch of famous old guys.

I am a paladin
Upon a big horse did I ride
Sword and shield by my side
Many a tyrant lost a crown to my crusade
Many a demon lost its fell blood on my blade
I served my god; on fields of battle I did strive
But I am still alive

I am a ranger
I was raised by a lion pride
In the woods I did abide
Simba and I found some goblins in our trees
Those vermin fell to our assault with passing ease
We left our home to venture over distant hills
And I am wandering still

I am a warlock
In darkened shadows I do hide
Made a pact with the other side
My life was shit so I signed a contract with those below
The took my soul in trade for an unholy power’s glow
In a fit of rage I burned my hometown to the ground
But I am still around

I'll always be around..and around and around and around and around

I sail a schooner
Across the oceans big and wide
And I sing my songs with pride
I lead this crew of heroes with a steady hand
I’m a bard; I’ll spread our legends throughout the land
I’ll make sure our endeavours aren’t in vain
And we will remain.

And We'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..[/url]

Awesome job!!!!

Isn't it hard to believe that the guy in the second verse 'grew up' to be Abraham Whistler in the Blade movies? Gotta love Kris Kristofferson.

Encore!!!!

You may not have noticed but on an increasingly frequent basis, I say things I shouldn't :D

I'm confused. He was older than me and everybody knows his name. I think my description was quite apt.

Are you sure? Reading the first verse it really seemed to suit Ride Across the River (or maybe it was The Man's Too Strong) by Dire Straits. When I then clicked your link there seemed to be a similar underlying rhythm.

You know, it's entirely possible that the song I listened to as I wrote it wasn't the one I wrote lyrics to.

However, I don't think it's exactly probable. It certainly wasn't intentional.

It is entirely possible you're both right, of course. :-) Even in today's litigious times, many melodies sound an awful lot like other melodies.
