The irony here is that I don't care much for filk and I really like 4th Edition.

"Three Point Five." (Sung, if you can call it that, to the tune of Still Alive by Johnathan Coulton. It's the end-credits song for the game Portal.)

This was a failure.
I'm making a note here:
Do Not Buy.
It's hard to plumb my deep
Dungeons & Dragons:
We Update our Games
to Make More Cash
for the good of all of us
fxcept the ones who have taste.
But there's no sense changing
if you're still having fun.
You just use old rules
for the games that you run.
And the wizard's still cool
and the druids still rule
for the the people who play.

It's not that I'm bitter.
I'm _sure_ all the change is for the best.
Even though they tried to kill
the half-orc.
And ruin the spiked chain
And change all the gnomes to NPCs.
As things changed I laughed because
My books are just as they were.
Now my gaming group is
enjoying our game
Since we saved our money
everything is the same.
So we give a hooray
And buy our books on eBay
from the people who left

Go ahead and upgrade.
I think I prefer you left the group.
Maybe you'll find someone who
plays 4E.
Or World of Warcraft.
I mean, after all, they're just alike.
Anyway, my game is great
It's very realistic.
Look at me still talking when there's prepping to do.
When I craft my plot
it makes me glad I'm not you.
I don't need a game that's new
I've got role-playing to do
with the people who play

And I'll continue to play 3.5
I roll for hit points: I'll play 3.5.
Warlords are stupid: I'll play 3.5
I don't need powers: I'll play 3.5.
So when you're bored, come and play 3.5.
