Feylin's Massive Bag of Holding

Its to the tune of the song "Foundations" by Kate Nash

I will perform it in as soon as my voice is fixed - be kind

Balazaar’s right, everything’s fine
Except he’s got that look in his eye
When I’m telling a story and he finds it boring
He’s thinking of someone to slay
He goes along with it, then drops it
And incinerates things in front of our friends

Then I’ll use that wand that he finds annoying
And say something like:
“Yeah, Dexterity bonus, darlin’
Why don’t I just poison your ass now then?”
Then he calls me a thief
And everyone we’re with will be embarrassed
And I won’t give stuff back

My fingertips are holding onto
My massive bag of holding
And I know that I should let go, but I can’t
And every time we fight, I know it’s not right
Every time that he’s injured and I smile
I know I should help out, but I can’t

He said I must down so many potions ‘cause I tend to jitter
I said:
“I’d rather be with Gerout, mate
‘Cause he is much fitter,”
Yes, it was childish and he got aggressive
And I must admit that I was a bit scared
But it gives me thrills to wind him up

My fingertips are holding onto
My massive bag of holding
And I know that I should let go, but I can’t
And every time we fight, I know it’s not right
Every time that he’s injured and I smile
I know I should help out, but I can’t

His face is hairless ‘cause he went and got so careless
What a surprise
Don’t want to look at his face ‘cause its makin’ me sick
He’s gone and got shit on my necklace
I only stole this yesterday
Oh my gosh, I cannot be bothered with this

Well, I’ll be a pain in the morning
And I purposely won’t turn his weasel on
And dear Goddess, I hope I’m not stuck with this one

My fingertips are holding onto
My massive bag of holding
And I know that I should let go, but I can’t
And every time we fight, I know it’s not right
Every time that he’s injured and I smile
I know I should help out, but I can’t

My fingertips are holding onto
My massive bag of holding
And I know that I should let go, but I can’t
And every time we fight, I know it’s not right
Every time that he’s injured and I smile
I know I should help out, but I can’t

And every time we fight, I know it’s not right
Every time that he’s injured and I smile
I know I should help out, but I can’t

Lindsay, I agree with the others. It's very well done. Seriously, listen to a verse or two. You've done a really good job.

Wow Lindsay.

I knew you had some talent with the singing, but I am really impressed how close you can get to Kate Nash.

And a mighty fun filk besides.

My word... Is there a London hairdresser in the house? :D

Magnificent performance, Linds. I thought you said you were nervous about this? More likely you didn't want to show the rest of us up!

Well for starters you barely lisp (and very rarely at that) and secondly we all thought you knew already :P.

I think I only ever noticed a slight lisp about three or four times in all the recordings on the sight. It's not as if it's something you do all the time.

I so didnt know, I upset myself when I hear my voice recorded, as I sound totally different to myself. I know this is the same to everyone, but I barely know its actually me.. :(

I come from a family with a number of professional level singing voices. My recorded voice makes me sound like an overly nasal cartoon character. That's why I write. :P

You have a great voice for audio.

So no problem, eh? Have a good listen to that terrific file Hal has posted of someone else singing your song...

I entirely sympathise. For much of today I was sorting through the interviews I recorded for the Expo and cringing at the whiny twonk representing RPGMP3... oh dear, that would be me, then

I recognize myself singing but not at all speaking; relistening to the game I got at the Expo I kept thinking "who's that, oh it's me, dear god why am I laughing constantly - had I been drinking?"
Lindsay: that lovely girl you got to do your song, you should pay her to do something else. :)

I love it :) I think it is great :D

So proud - she even makes it sound decent against the rubbish backing track I managed to dig up that sounds nothing like the actual song :)

If I post anything else, Im going to start sounding like *that* kind of person who posts to make people pay her compliments, which Im honestly not doing. Hal can back up how much I hate the sound of my own voice..I dont think I have ever listened to one of our game sessions.

I'm glad that you like it, and i'm very glad its behind me..
