Of course we weren't the only ones facing danger at the Expo...

Yeah, some dodgy bloke turns up, offers you some Jelly Babies and asks if you'd like to go for "adventures" with him inside his little blue box.

Run children! Run!

And Martin, you've spelled lobotomy wrong in your sig. It's been bugging me for ages. :)

Does it really? Then I'll leave it just as it is then

Fair enough. Although it seems to me that a labotomy would involve removing lips of some sort... 8O

That made me be a bit sick in my mouth... now I've had to change it.

Big Jack in action!
No, no, calm down ladies not THAT kind of action...

Jon chats with Robin (left) and Dave at the Pinnacle stand.

Jon interviews Gregor Hutton...or is Gregor Hutton interviewing Jon?

Matt Machell and Malcolm Craig (right) : Would you buy a game from these
men?

Matt Sprange from Mongoose gets the Big Jack treatment. Personally I think Jon is checking out the leather clad bottom in the rear (phnarr phnarr)

Looks like a pretty fun time. I dig the giant Catan board; what, no Seafarers expansion?

What was the game with the huge castle set-up? Actually aside from Settlers, I don't think I could I identify a single game being played.

Honestly Cent I have no idea. It really is fantastic to see the bewildering number of board and wargames on the market. I wish we had more time to play some of them.

I was amazed by how many families were there, and all the kids were really getting into the games, not just being dragged along by gaming parents with a "This'll be fun!"
Let's hope they don't grow out of it and carry on gaming when they're older. :)
(Yes, the giant Settlers game was great, I had a go. :D)

Nice job mate :)

That video is pretty decent quality considering it was from a phone :) And what steady hands you have ;)

We should be hearing some of the interviews shortly

Hah! Clever Photoshop fakery!

As for the boardgames, the only thing I recognised in the video was a bottle of Lucozade...

I was wondering how many of the newbies that seemed to have appeared in the last few days wandered this way after being lured in by the business cards at the Expo ("if all persons reporting in from the Expo could stand in this holding pen whilst we count you :D") - it might be interesting to know how effective the extra publicity has been?

Yes I got the business card.
Did you manage to do the audio of the "Custard Creme" Cuthuhlu by gaslight?

At least one, unless there's a surprising coincidence of names, on top of which I know of one or two interviewees who were already registered here.

We could have done more with the cards, perhaps, although I did try to get them out to any likely souls (and someone at work!) Maybe a small flyer next year, with space to describe the site a bit more. It might also be an idea for us to deliberately record an RPG session aimed at non-RPGers, so that they can hear what it's like without being subjected to the likes of a "Whartson Hall sound check"

Yes, Hal has it so it should hopefully appear at some point in the future. He's a busy man so be patient; there's plenty of other audio on here to listen to in the meantime. :)

I will try and get the game audio from the Expo up tomorrow :)

Wasn't the business card that got me here, it was meeting - and being recorded by - you in one of the games! I figured if I'm to become a broadcasting celebrity, I should at least listen to find out how awful I sound
