About 51 minutes in, someone cast a stinking cloud spell.

I literally hurt myself laughing. I have never laughed so hard that I hurt myself before in my life. I have laughed so hard it hurt. But never so hard that I injured myself in the process. It's been 8 minutes and my sides still hurt.

Encore?

Harvo, I hope you don't mind but I have downloaded your purple anime signature and downsized it so that it is only 7K (rather than 57K). It should make the pages load much faster :)

The new file is connected to your sig :) Feel free to use it elsewhere if you like :)

Cheers

Eh done this in a few minutes, I'll fix it latter. Counterstrike is calling me, oh and how you lower the size so much and keep its transparent. I am only familiar with PNG, Gifs, and I did made a signature through flash before I got Photoshop cs2

I notice you guys were talking about thanks giving.

i have to ask. how long do you withhold podcast material from the general public?

also:
Im considering becoming a donating member or w/e it takes to get ahold of the "Recent non-5 month old podcasts" how much does it take?

I don't think it's "with-holding" so much as "really kind of forgets to post it"...

The files that go up on the main site are actually edited, and cleaned up. Patrons get the (sometimes very) raw file. Hal literally copies the file from the recorder to his computer, uploads the file to the site, and links it.

Or so I understand the process to be.

But to edit it, Hal needs to make time to do so, and he IS taking college classes, plus prepping games (to play and then record), and other such things...

As for becoming one of us Patrons, right below the "Forum Latest" scrolling thing is a "Become a Patron" window. five bucks a month gets you "the good stuff".

For all relative values of "good". :)

On the left hand side of the site is a 'Become a Patron' link, with 'Click for Info'.

All raw, unedited and uncompressed recording are available to patrons, and are made available ASAP.

Hal can chime in too, but I don't think he ever intended to have such a backlog. Warlords of the Accordlands was recorded about a year ago when it was first released to the public.

What with moving to America, taking college courses, and working with not just his material, but also two other groups as well, I think he's got alot on his plate.

I started listening about a year ago, and I still haven't listened to everything available to the public yet either.

(Woot! Post 100!)

*sigh*

No. He doesn't edit out even the lewd stuff, really (or else half of what Fin says would never be heard). He does, play with some "audio things" I believe, boosting volume, trying to lower background noise...

Or so it is my understanding. I could be completely wrong, however...

I think it would be fairly obvious if actual gameplay was missing.

I've seen in other posts, including Paul's primer, that the main things done are:

* Use an ambient room recording to remove background noise

* Lower the volume on spikes (loud laughing, etc.)

* normalize the volume. This is where you boost the overall volume of the recording based on the loudest part to a dB usually around 0.

this is one of the reasons you hear Lindsay being so adamant about banging on the table and such. It makes it that much harder to get a good recording and editing takes more time, and that's less time she gets to spend with Hal. (Or else she just really hates banging on tables)

Having done these things myself, I know it's no easy task, even for a short 1 hour recordings that I've done. I'd imagine it takes a fair amount of time to get these recording ready for 'Prime Time'

EDIT: Finished my thought.
