Hey, Melkior and other patrons: What's it like out in non-patron land? Seriously. I'm not exhorting you to join up, I'm interested to know if non-patrons find enough on this site to keep them interested. I mean, sure, you've got the non-patron forums and six or seven solid days of audio, but does the new stuff come out fast enough to keep your interest?

Hal, I don't ask this as a round about way of scolding you. I'm genuinely curious what this site's like for non-patrons.

The only reason that I haven't become a patron is that my income is the opposite of steady. However, the only reason that I want to become a patron is to support the site. For me, there is plenty and more to do out here in the non-patron areas.

Well, I would say, yes, there is enough audio, and other stuff to keep interest.

I did get to the site late in its cycle though. I think WLD was almost done when I started listening to it. I'm listening to Temple of Elemental evil now and I think its great.

In addition, my wife and I are listening to WLD in about 10 to 30 minute sections at night, and then plan to listen to sunless citadel, banewarrens, and temple together. At that rate it will take at least a year to get through the audio thats on the site now, so the pace isn't too much of a concern.

I also agree with woojitsu about there being plenty in non-patron land.

I have to say that those questions are mighty interesting :) I was going to try a little market research questionnaire in a week or so to see what I can do to make the site more successful and more pleasant for you lot :)

How you you be fixed to have a stab at it?

Well, I think that at some point, we are simply behind, not really getting stuff less often. Yes, we've only seen two new posts from Hal's crew in the last 4-5 months, but I have never gotten the impression that there is this ever growing stockpile of sessions building so that 5 years from now non-patrons will be getting the end of Haggemoth while patrons have two whole series that will never be released for the plebs.

Most of my non-working hours are devoted to researching stocks and other financial instruments so I can make the most of my meager monetary resources- rpgmp3 is a great bit of escapism for me, but I can only afford to spend so much of my life cheering for sports teams or Feylin the Dragonslayer. Honestly, when there aren't any new recordings for a month or two, I get more done. Hal might be able to break me if he released 20 recordings or so over a week. This pace is good - it's an enjoyable part of my life without dominating things. Nicely balanced.

Not sure it's worth two cents, but there you have it.

-Pete

Sorry, I'm not sure at whom this is directed. Or what it means.

It was generally directed at all - I wondered when I was writing it if it was clear :) Just wanted to know if I put together a quick survey if you guys woild be good to take it :)

I think I need some research to guide the future of the site and get some user stats going :) That way I can target some pimping and get some more happy users :)

Apologies for being vague :D
