Yeah, overall, you'll probably be happier there. Caldera's kind of a wacky choice, but I can't help pushing it. :D

Did a bit of wandering and I see 3 SHs on the west side of the Poco bridge - All Your Souls, The DHARMA Initiative and Cool Guy Crew - all good aligned factions (not that that seems to matter).

A few blockades but none that are blocking main paths in and out.

Also add to nearby resources a hardware store - and a mall if you have some shopping needs :D

Faction that just did us in is the delightfully named ¬_¬

They travelled all the way from Purgatorio to do this - how nice of them.

I would be willing to grab planar protection just to keep the strong hold up for longer than a few days. Does paradise hurt if you are non-good or non-angel?

Paradise is sounding better and better. Planar Protection may be a small price to pay. However, spellcasters may not be able to afford to pay the MP cost of using the portals and still be able to cast spells.

I'm ok with going to paradise, i can grab planar protection. Also a few less mp's means more shooting. :)

I have no real thoughts on this, except to say that paradise may not prove to be significantly safer than St. Germaine. Happy to try setting up a base there, but we might need to get used to a wandering lifestyle regardless. ;)

I have for now recreated the SH in the same location (39, 69) for now. If we decide to move, not a problem but I figured we best have something in the interim.

I'm thinking of putting up a ward against evil - is that going to cause any problems for anyone? That may help a bit (yes, until they dispell it or another 'good' faction decides we look tasty).

I don't usually like to doublepost, but I'll never catch up otherwise. ;)

Anyway, sorry, I've been a little busy; let's answer some of those questions.

If we did paradise we would all need planar protection I assume?

Not necessarily, it kinda depends on how you play your character. If you are determined to do a lot of wandering around in the open, then yes. But if you spend most of your time crafting, searching in buildings, or hunting in Valhalla, then you probably don't need it as long as our base is reasonably close to a portal. And hell, any damage you take is healing exp for somebody.

Mr Woo killed me. A lvl 22 character. Not sure he even got xp for that...

Not a question, but just for the record he does get exp, aye. The rules for a T3 character atm are full exp for any other T3 character, half exp for a T2 character, and no exp for mortals.

Does paradise hurt if you are non-good or non-angel?

I believe the rule is non-angels. The wiki supports this, but it ain't perfect.

As for MP cost, I'm afraid this hadn't occurred to me, and I sympathise. Don't intend to push the SH in Paradise thing, but I thought it deserved mentioning as an option. If portals are going to be an inhibition, then that's a pretty powerful strike against the idea.

Hmmm, when I logged on it told me our standard was in danger so I made my way to Poco and found somebody put a ward on the bridge blocking good from crossing. I gave it a few wacks before i had to retreat due to low APs

One of my alts is in the Alliance of St. Germaine. They just got wiped out by OS/Pirates and have moved to Paradise as well. Their new stonghold is great for crafters but is so far from the portal that it makes it impractical for a fighter-type to get to where the bad guys are and back in one session and have any APs left to fight with. If we moved to Paradise, we would need to stay near the portal.
